Overview

Fishing the Nolichucky Gorge is a premier adventure fishing experience with some of the finest Smallmouth waters that Tennessee has to offer. You will be guided through class I-IV rapids while casting your line. Test yourself on these smallies with a fly rod or a cast rod. The best fishing times are spring, early summer, and fall, however adequate water levels can mean great fishing all summer.

Legacy Anglers gives a comprehensive lesson that covers three basic casts, basic knot tying, and discussion about equipment, flies, water reading, and hatch matching. This three-hour lesson is conducted primarily in the water.

We offer shuttles from both The Resort and Red Banks Campground to different destinations. For rafting and kayaking, we offer shuttles to the Nolichucky Gorge launch site located in Poplar NC. For Appalachian Trail thru hikers, we offer slack pack shuttles Northbound and Southbound on the Appalachian Trail. We also offer shuttles for hikers to resupply in Erwin TN. Please give us a call at 1-800-USA-RAFT to schedule any shuttles in advance.

(Generally) No. Liability waivers are typically completed by legal guardians only. If you are with a Summer Camp or Youth Group, leaders and chaperones can sign the waivers provided certain conditions are met, please contact us to discuss your specific questions.

Yes fishing is allowed at both The Resort and Red Banks Campground. Please note these are popular areas with people using the river so all fisherman must use caution and yield to other river users.

The Legacy Anglers guide carries two fly rods and a casting rod on each trip.
