| The
Nolichucky - sometimes roaring and surging, while
other times serene and playful, the Nolichucky is always beautiful. The tributaries
that form the river start among the slopes of the largest
mountain in the east, Mount Mitchell. Then the Nolichucky
turns west and forces its way through the spine-like ridge
of the Unaka Mountains that form the border between North
Carolina and Tennessee. The Nolichucky gorge is surrounded by towering
cliffs, hardwood forests encasing the steep slopes, rhododendron
and laurel cascading over banks of the river. The riverside
outpost is adjacent to the Appalachian Trail, which is great for
a mid-afternoon stroll or adventure.
We offer Nolichucky River Gorge whitewater rafting trips for ages 12+. No experience required. We also offer a family float trip for ages 4+.
Nolichucky River Rafting allows you to get away from
the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Come and experience
a wonderful wilderness adventure with your family and friends
today!
Nolichucky River Trips are run by Mountain Adventure Guides, DBA.
