Lodging for New and Gauley Rivers

Basecamp Camping

Basecamp Lodging at the River Expeditions Adventure Resort features several different tent camping options. Choose from spacious wooded, festive, alcohol-free and quiet camping areas each complete with picnic tables and fire rings. Within the campground, you are within easy walking distance to our new showerhouse and restrooms, dining area, pool and hot tub, Fire Creek Lodge and Conference Center, Outfitters Store, Red Dog River Saloon, and Welcome Center. If you still need to burn off some energy after your white water rafting trip, there’s also on-site paintball, volleyball and hiking to enjoy! Why not stay an extra day to experience everything we have to offer at River Expeditions?
 
All of our campsites are pet friendly, and your pet is sure to enjoy sleeping under the stars while camping with their family in West Virginia. We welcome your pets as long as they do not disturb other guests and are kept on a leash at all times.
 
Feel free to scope out the entire campground before making your camping selection. And please always be mindful of other guests around you. 

We have wooded festive and quiet camping areas complete with picnic tables and fire rings. You supply the tent. $10.00 per person/per night plus tax Sunday through Thursday. $15.00 per person/per night plus tax Friday and Saturday.

On-Site RV Park

The sites in our RV Park are new and improved this year, complete with water and electric hook ups and even a dump station on-site. The six RV sites are centrally located near the showerhouse/restrooms. They are situated on a gravel parking lot and can accommodate even the longest rigs. Each site includes plenty of space for parking additional vehicles and features a fire ring and picnic table so you can still enjoy the best part of camping, even if you’re only semi-roughing it. 

 The RV Park is centrally located at the River Expeditions Adventure Resort, so you can take advantage of all the on-site activities including paintball, hiking, volleyball and swimming in our outdoor pool. For more relaxing activities, take a soak in our hot tub, or visit the Fire Creek Lodge and Conference Center to play a game of pool or board games, watch TV or surf the Internet. If you are feeling social, there’s always the camaraderie and atmosphere of the Red Dog River Saloon a short walk away from the RV Park.

Our RV Park is pet friendly, so your pet can be part of your West Virginia adventure. Pets are welcome at River Expeditions, provided that they do not disturb other guests and are kept on a leash at all times.

$40.00 per night plus tax Sunday through Thursday; $45.00 per night plus tax Friday and Saturday.

Rustic Cabins

River Expeditions offers cozy, rustic cabins on-site for your convenience. Enjoy shelter from the elements plus the comfort of a soft bed in a primitive setting. These rustic log cabins feature six bunks with double-size foam mattresses, electricity, lights, and porch. You supply pillows, sleeping bags or bedding and blankets. These cabins are located near the showerhouse and restrooms and are a short walk to all of the River Expeditions facilities including the outdoor pool and hot tub, paintball field, hiking area, Outfitters Store and for evening entertainment, the Fire Creek Lodge and the Red Dog River Saloon™.
 
Rustic cabins are pet friendly lodgings and River Expeditions welcomes pets provided that they do not disturb other guests and are kept on a leash at all times.Availability is limited so reserve your rustic cabin well in advance to insure your preferred dates. 
 
$70.00 per night plus tax Sunday through Thursday; $80.00 per night plus tax Friday and Saturday.

Tents on Platforms

Platform tents are a convenient way for you to enjoy all the fun of camping, without all the hassle of packing a tent, setting it up and tearing it down. Our large, four-person tents are set up on wooden platforms and covered by a tin roof to protect you from the elements. They come equipped with four foam mattresses – the only gear you will need to bring is your sleeping bag, or bedding, and pillow. Please reserve tents on platforms in advance, as we have a limited number of these units available.
  
Our platform tents are pet friendly, and your pet is sure to enjoy sleeping in the outdoors while camping with their family in West Virginia. We welcome your pets as long as they do not disturb other guests and are kept on a leash at all times.
 
$55.00 per night plus tax Sunday through Thursday; $60.00 per night plus tax Friday and Saturday.
 

Deluxe Cabins

These new Deluxe Cabins at the River Expeditions Adventure Resort on the New River Gorge are conveniently located to the Fire Creek Lodge, where you can relax watching TV, surf the Internet or play pool after your day of white water rafting adventures. These cabins are also close to the dining area, the outdoor pool and hot tub, and Outfitters Store. If the mood takes you, The Red Dog River Saloon™, with its relaxing atmosphere and live music on the weekends is just a short walk away.
 
Each Deluxe Cabin features four double beds upstairs, a seating area, bathroom/shower, fridge, coffee maker, heat and a/c, linens and towels, gas grill on the porch and fire ring and picnic table outside. Each cabin sleeps up to 8; 2-night minimum; linen service with 3+ nights.  Sorry, but pets are NOT permitted in our Deluxe Cabins.

Leisure Cabins

These cabins are also close to the dining area, the outdoor pool and hot tub, and Outfitters Store.  The Red Dog River Saloon™, with its relaxing atmosphere and live music on the weekends, is just a short walk away.Each Leisure Cabin features four double beds, 1 bunkbed, and 1 single bed upstairs, a seating area with sofa and loveseat, bathroom/shower, fridge, coffee maker, microwave, heat and a/c, linens and towels, gas grill on the porch and fire ring and picnic table outside. Each cabin sleeps up to 11; 2-night minimum; linen service with 3+ nights.  Sorry, but pets are NOT permitted in our Leisure Cabins.

Luxury Cabins

Enjoy all the comforts of home in our beautiful five queen bedroom luxury cabins nestled in the woods at River Expeditions Adventure Resort. These cabins offer the perfect West Virginia getaway. Enjoy nearby Wolf Creek and explore our on-site hiking area at your leisure or relax in your own private hot tub on the porch.
 
If you’re feeling more energetic, take advantage of all of the River Expeditions amenities, including paintball, sand volleyball, horseshoes, outdoor pool and hot tub, and evening entertainment at the Fire Creek Lodge and the Red Dog River Saloon ™.
 
Each Luxury Cabin features a full kitchen, two full baths, sofa and love seat, gas fireplace, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, central heat and a/c, linens and towels, private hot tub and gas grill on porch, plus fire ring and picnic table outside. Each cabin sleeps up to 10; 2-night minimum; linen service with 3+ nights. Sorry, but pets are NOT permitted in our Luxury Cabins.

Bunkhouse

This all new lodging option was designed with groups in mind, blending convenience and value.  Centrally located adjacent to the Fire Creek Lodge, the Bunkhouse features 16 dormitory-style beds with twin foam mattresses and a private restroom.  You supply pillows, sleeping bags or linens and blankets.  Bunkhouse sleeps up to 16; 2-night minimum stay required.  Sorry, no pets allowed.
